Nora Roberts & Inn BoonsBoro

I was intrigued by Nora Robert’s newsletter today and the promo of Pagan Stone. But what caught my eye was an Inn she’ll be opening in Maryland in 2009. It’s absolutely lovely!

For details about the Inn, the fire and rebuilding plus a video:

http://wjz.com/local/nora.roberts.boonsboro.2.843700.html

With the warmth and welcome of a Bed and Breakfast combined with the luxury of a boutique hotel, Inn BoonsBoro offers you an unforgettable experience. Housed in the first stone building constructed in the historic town of Boonsboro, the inn was updated in 2008 with a three-million dollar remodel and renovation. Throughout this extensive renovation, we have honored the dignity and charm of this historic site while designing a small hotel to meet the most discerning guests' expectations.

Our guests can choose from among eight rooms, including two suites and a ground-floor ADA compliant guest room. With the exception of The Penthouse, all our rooms have been inspired by literary romantic couples.

Our eight luxury guest rooms are designed with your comfort in mind.

Thanksgiving

This coming Thursday here in the US is our Thanksgiving and keeping this in mind, here is a poem I would like to share. Wherever you live, peace, joy and blessings.

Be Thankful
By Author Unknown

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary,
because it means you've made a difference.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they can become your blessings.

Book Donations Needed - Cedar Rapids Public Library

Cedar Rapids, Iowa suffered a terrible flood this summer and as a result the Cedar Rapids Public Library was nearly destroyed. Federal funds are being used to rebuild but there are no funds to replace the 20,000-30,000 books destroyed as a result of the water damage. If you want to donate books for the library or items that are suitable for sale on eBay to raise funds, you can send those to Mystery Cat Books at 112 32ndSt S.E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 52403.

November Contest

The author Jackie Ivie was kind enough to give each attendee at the Emerald City Writer's Conference an autographed copy of her October release which I would like to share with a lucky reader.

I looked on Amazon and it's received great reviews.

Just comment about the latest "Historical" you're reading and you'll be entered in the contest. Good Luck!

Description:

Scotland, 1141. A Norman king's attempts to rule the Highland clans is making his favorite knight's job difficult, indeed-and that is before a woman of mystery lays siege to the warrior's heart.

She Lives To Heal.

He's a giant of a man; what's more, he's the enemy. These truths should be enough to send Aislynn running far and fast from the wounded stranger in the woods. But he needs her help-and the reward he bestows changes her forever...

He Fights To Kill.

Formidable knight Rhoenne Guy de Ramhurst has been "gifted" with a fiefdom-and the unenviable task of taming the rebellious Highlanders that populate it. He also has a castle full of dissidents, led by his own half brother. Yet these challenges pale in comparison with attempts to forget the healer who saved his life and captured his heart...

And One Love Rules Them Both.

Rhoenne believes a family curse places any woman he loves in mortal danger. When Aislynn is abducted by his profligate sibling, Rhoenne becomes her protector-even as he tries to resist her. But Aislynn has secrets of her own-and as deception and danger swirl ever closer around them, the truth may be their only salvation.

American Title - Romantic Times

INTRODUCTION from Romantic Times Website:

Here we go again, starting up the last ballyhoo of the American Title contest sponsored by Romantic Times BOOKreviews and Dorchester Publishing. Yes, it's the last hurrah, the fifth and final outing for our writing contest, with publication by Dorchester as first prize to the winner. While last year's winner, Helen Scott Taylor, basks in the glory of publication -- THE MAGIC KNOT comes out in February from Love Spell -- our new combatants suit up for battle.

This year we opened up the categories, inviting all and sundry. Eight lucky wannabe writers made the grade. Dorchester editors Chris Keeslar and Leah Hultenschmidt say the Dorchester staff had a hard time narrowing down the prospects. "It's getting harder and harder to choose the best," Keeslar says. "We don't envy the voters. We wouldn't want to have to choose the winner."

Choosing the winner is your task, RT readers. You can meet our fresh new finalists and read their opening lines, as well as comments on each entry from our team of judges and then vote for your favorite contestant.

But choose carefully! You only get one vote per round. We'll start the first two rounds by only eliminating one contestant with the lowest score, then proceed after round three by eliminating two per round, until the winner is announced in the June issue of RT BOOKreviews.

We're happy to have our veteran team of judges back for the swan song of American Title: Flavia Knightsbridge, RT's own columnist and globe-trotter extraordinaire, provides the snarl; freelance editor Hilary Ross, whose nose for talent nurtured some of the best in the biz, offers the snap; and, finally, veteran romance editor and book doctor Leslie Kazanjian plays it sweet as RT's "good cop" judge.

Our judges get to hold forth in the pages of the magazine, but you, the RT reader, wield the real power when you vote online for your favorite contestant.

And don't forget: Because of RT's printing schedule, subscribers who don't have a first-class subscription or those who buy the magazine in bookstores may not receive issues in time to meet the voting deadline. To be certain you make the deadline and vote for your favorites, visit romantictimes.com during the online voting dates listed below or you can sign up for our free monthly e-mail newsletter to get voting reminders e-mailed to you.

VOTE ON THE BEST FIRST LINE

ONLINE VOTING OVERVIEW

RT BOOKreviews Issue Voting Category Online Voting

The winner will be announced during the Awards Ceremony on Friday, April 24, 2009, at the RT Booklovers Convention in Orlando, FL, and in the June issue of RT BOOKreviews.

On Monday, April 27, 2008, the winner's name will be posted online at www.romantictimes.com
